A bible for San Diego area hikers! I had three hiking guides for the area, and this was by far the best of the bunch. Hikes are grouped by region all over the county, with lots of information on distance, difficulty, recommended footwear, elevation changes, appropriateness for kids, dogs, bikes, etc. etc. -- not to mention the enticing descriptions. There's also a "best of" appendix in case you need some help getting started. Hikes range from half-mile jaunts for families to 25 mile treks for expert hikers, with everything in between.
