I had to give this it's own thread. This was just posted on his Myspace page...

Family and Friends
Current mood: Shocked and sad

Dear Friends, Family and wonderful, wonderful Fans of MOONLIGHT.

Well, where to start....?
The decision to cancel MOONLIGHT... my MOONLIGHT... our MOONLIGHT, is
as much of a shock and gut wrenching surprise to me as it is to all of
you.

Really, I don't even know where to begin.

I sit here at my computer, still slack jawed even 24 hours after
receiving the news that my services are no longer required on the set
of this show. A show we have all come to know and love deeply, and it
hurts more than I can possibly tell you.

Since i got THE CALL I have not read anything online or otherwise, I
have not been following blogs or forums, I have not been reading the
trades or opinion polls and I have not been calling around to get
information.
"Why are you not fighting for your show?!" I hear you all scream!!
The truth is my friends, I never STOPPED fighting for it.
From the very beginning when I was told time and again that i wasn't
the man for the job, having to prove myself to everyone with tests and
screen tests, to a complete re-casting of the show, through 5
different show runners at the helm with 5 different artistic visions,
to a Writer's strike that took 5 episodes away from us...... oh how
the list goes on.
But through all of that, i am proud to say that not once did I bow
down and allow someone else to come in and do with MOONLIGHT as they
please. And along the way, if I needed a break and wanted to do that,
I don't think I could have anyway because, well, I suppose it's just
not in my nature! ;)
This is all still so fresh for me and I am going to need a little time
to process this whole thing before i can digest what has actually
happened, let alone move on.

Honestly. I really feel lost for words.

I will say however, that never, never in my life have I experienced
first hand a level of support from a group of people like that of you
all who are reading this now, and who 'loved this show to life'
alongside me. It has been overwhelming to say the least.

I am grateful to you all.
I am extremely proud to be associated with this piece of television.
And I am so, so sorry to my very core, to lose MOONLIGHT.

All my love,

Alex O'Loughlin x

I guess it puts things into perspective. We as viewers are all really sad and angry to see the show cancelled but when you're the leading man of the show and have put so much work into it, it's got to really HURT ....

I so hope all of the efforts to get this show moved to another network pay off, and now not just for selfish reasons ....

Thank you Collette for your support. I'll try not to be grumpy when we talk. ;-)

You are right Emma. Especially when Alex rejected movie deals to set aside the time for Moonlight. There was so much positive buzz about the show being renewed. I thinks that's why most of us are in shock and in denial. His loss is more than ours obviously and it impacts so many aspects of his life. :-(

I'm with you Amy. :::sniff sniff:::

Letty and Gals...   This just in from Moonlight website:

I SEE THE GLIMMER OF HOPE  EVERYONE...GO TO TVGUIDE AND SEE THEIR LATEST POST.

EVEN MATT ROUSH TV CRITIC IS "FLOORED" BY THE CANCELATION.

http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Cw-Bring-Moonlight/800039584?messageID=800468233

According to this article, TV Guide hesitates to say anything as not to give us false hope, but Warner Bros has CONFIRMED they are shopping Moonlight to other outlets!

I think CBS is a waste of time at this point.  I would start inundating CW and whatever other networks have buzz about picking up Moonlight.   I would rather see it on a younger, hipper network anyway.

Also keep e-mailing Warner Bros...so they know we WANT them to keep shopping it around!

Actually LaVaughn this is Matt Roush's article. When I read it this morning it took away what little hope I had so I didn't bother to post it.

http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Roush-Dispatch/Moonlight/800039595

I hope this other writer's "Moonlight source" is reliable. :-/

Just learnt from Moonlight-Detective.com that:

CBS is taking a headcount of fans who call

 818-655-1779

before 6PM Pacific time, May 16th. They will ask for name, age, city and state. Recommend waiting until

after 8am Pacific time on Friday,

May 16th.

No Spoilers, us West Coasters haven't gotten to watch it yet.  I was just reading all the website stuff.  His myspace is touching.  I was watching one of the earlier ones I missed on CBS, thought maybe it would help, but maybe not.  hmmm.  we'll see.

God I love that man! lol It's a crime to be that good looking, that sexy AND seemingly nice all rolled into one.  And that Aussie accent is to die for. *Sigh*

I.MUST.HAVE.HIM!!!!!  MINE. ALL MINE.

Well, I ordered him from Netflix anyhow. I have all his movies and the Aussie TV show in my queue. I'll have myself an Alex weekend next week.

LOL... Susie... he is to die for, isn't he!!!

I have been taping the moonlight episodes, so I can at least watch them ...

I bought Alex's movie, The Adventures of Mary Bryant, still trying to get FEED and the Oyster FArmer.

Saw him in the DVD The Invisible, and I heard he was in the movie August Rush ....

I really wish I would of thought to tape the episodes. I bought a bunch of them from itunes, just to discover that they can only be watched on the computer (that sucks). The show is so good it never crossed my mind that we could lose it.

No way!?!?!? Frontal nudity from Alex. *swooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon* I'm bumping that one to the top of my Netflix queue! lol

LaVaughn: You don't get much more perfect than him! And I do NOT get crushes on celebrities. He's made my exception list. The last time I was 13 and it was Donny Osmond at the height of his career. lol That tells you how long ago it was.

I haven't seen any of his other stuff - believe it or not, I just thought of it when I heard Moonlight was cancelled. Duh.  Where did you find Mary Bryant to buy?

oh yes, he's naked and glorious and then he sort of bounces down to a sitting postion and well...things bounce up.  rofl I watched it about 20 time in slo mo before my darling husband said he would really enjoy it if I would stop trying to get a better view of another man's junk while he was in the room. rofl

LOL ... Oh goodness .... Hayley you had me LMAO !!! I've been trying to rent FEED from Blockbuster but apparently there is a long waiting list to see it!!   Frontal nudity and ALex ..... I've got to catch that one! LOL

I actually ordered it from Best Buy.... DVDs... I think it cost $6.99 .... The Title is : The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant.... It is Austrailian made, a colonial piece about a young woman who is sent to the penal colony of Austrailia back in the 1700s .... Alex plays her husband..... If you liked movies like The Patriot with Mel Gibson, or Braveheart or shows like that have a bit of history in their plot, then you will like that movie.

OMG Hayley - ROFLOL. I can see myself doing the same thing.

Thanks LaVaughn. I'd read a synopsis on each of the things he'd done (when I put them in my Netflix queue) and I do like things like that .... besides, I'd watch it anyhow even if I didn't! lol But Alex for 6.99 is well worth it to buy.

I've got August Rush in the queue but I'm guessing his part is sort of minor since he's not mentioned as one of the main actors. He plays Marshall. I'm not sure who that is ...

I just looked up the movie Feed and the plot of this movie is whacked and Alex plays the wacko. Not sure if nudity is worth distorting my romantic image of him. You guys will need to let me know what you thought of the movie.

Feed is soooo freaking disturbing. It might ruin your image of him lol I struggled to get the images to leave my mind.
