Alexander knew it was going to be a terrible day when he woke up with
gum in his hair. And it got worse...
His best friend deserted him. There was no dessert in his lunch bag. And, on top of all that, there were lima beans for dinner and kissing on TV.

An excellent book for those days when just nothing seems to go right. We read this book to show that not every day is perfect and that moving to Australia probably wouldn't help (it's part of the book...). My older son sympathises with Alexander and tells him to go to sleep and that tomorrow will be a better day.

This is an absolutely funny story about a young boy that has a terrible day.

This darling book follows Alexander through his emotionally challenging day. The book is written matter-of-factly, and accepting of Alexander's emotions, and ends on a better note.

Great story for whiny little ones

I love this book! You know when you wake up and stub your toe, spill your coffee, get a flat tire, and manage to burn dinner? All in the same day? That's what this book is about. Some days are just bad days, but it's okay.
