Has anyone tried Alli?  Did it work for you?  Any side effects?  Thanks!  Michelle

if you take alli, be sure to follow a strict diet. dont go over the amount of fat is says you can have per meal.

one of the worst side effects (that comes from not following the strict diet) is oily stools and leakage. i know it sounds gross, but its true. one of my pharmacist was telling me about a lady she knew who ruined her new couch b/c she decided to eat potato chips and then take a nap

even if you do stick to the diet, this can still happen.

I took it before it came out OTC. I wouldn't recommend it!

Thanks for the feedback, everyone!  I've been going back and forth on this for awhile, but it is that little issue of the "leaking" that scares me.  Although I don't eat a lot of high fat things, I don't want to be afraid that anything I put in my mouth will mess me up.  I keep flashing back to a joke Jeff Foxworthy made, "If you have "anal leakage," it doesn't matter how much weight you've lost, you're not going to look good in those jeans!"  :)

The big thing is eating fats.  If you do you will have "leakage".  Also, I took it long enough to affect my health in another way.  I now have anemia caused by a b12 deficiency.  The Alli allows food to travel trough your system so quickly you might not absorb the B12 you normally get from food.  I now have to get B12 injections every month until it builds back up in my system.

Best thing, stick to a diet you can live with.  The weight may come off slowly but you'll be healthy!

If you don't take it for long it's great!

I think it's hideous.  There has to be a better way to lose weight.  In fact, there are many.

I was taking the prescription strength of ALLI known as Orlistat. My doctor prescribed a daily multivitiman because it is known to block some vitamin intake so I was to take it at night before bed..The problem I had with the Orlistat is I had a severe allergic reaction to it 4 days after I began..Now Im not sure if it interacted with my other meds or if it was the Orlistat itself.. As for the "leakage" I didnt have any problems as long as I maintained a lowfat diet. Good luck

I'd say stay away from diet pills altogether

If you stick to a low fat intake you'll lose weight without taking the pills. And besides who wants those nasty side effects? Just because it's FDA approved doesn't mean much. They don't approve all the herbal supplements I take that help me, but they approve things that can be harmful. I'm a nutrition major and we learned a lot about the FDA, in conclusion, they're a joke.
Sorry for that mini rant lol

Watching fat and calories is the best way to lose, i know from experience :)
