Wow! Rachel Vincent really delivers with the final installment of The Shifters series. Faythe, Marc and Jace are accused of treason and murder. There are major changes in the Council and Cal Malone is once again showing how truly evil he is. Faythe is once again fighting for her life and that of her Pride. The last two books in this series have touched me so many ways. (At least I wasn't sobbing on a plane while reading this one!)You can lose yourself in this series and feel like you are a Pridemate. 5 Stars!!

The Shifters series was one of the first paranormal series that I read when I ventured back into the genre in 2007. I have been a faithful and loyal fan ever since I ran across Stray in a used bookstore. I've bought and devoured every release in this series ever since. Faythe and the crew have never disappointed. They've always pulled me into their world and delivered an action-packed, blood-pumping thrill ride of a story. Alpha, was no exception!

I'm so sad that this brought the series to a close, after all of this time I feel like I'm saying goodbye to friends. Luckily, Rachel Vincent has shown us what a fantastic writer she is, delivering another amazing addiction to the series and ending it all in a way that left me feeling completely satisfied. There was no cop-out on the love triangle, we got a solid ending with Faythe picking one guy for certain. The major dramas were all wrapped up, but it was left open enough that we can imagine how our favorite characters have went on to live their lives after it was all done.

Overall, fans of this series will not be disappointed with the finale. If you aren't one of the minions that have already read this, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

I have been devouring this series as quickly as possible in a manner that can only be described as obssecive. Rachel Vincent is a new fave author! This whole series is amazing!
I read Alpha in almost one sitting. I couldn't stop couldn't put it down almost couldn't breath without knowing what the finale would bring. Alpha was not a disapointment! Every moment had me on the edge of my seat.
We have gotten to see Faythe grow from a spoiled baby to an impressive Badass women from Stray to Alpha and it has been a transformation to behold. I hate to read a series to be let down by the finale but this one tied everything up, not in a neat little bow, but in a sloppy, imperfect, bow that only Faythe and her loyal crew tie.
These books are keepers for my shelf...I know I will do a re-read someday!

This is the final book in Rachel Vincent's Werecat's series. And to be honest, even though I've had some troubles with the books over the course of the series, I obviously liked it enough to read them all, and to my surprise, I want to read them again! I want to experience the whole story again! And that to me, is one part of a great series.

So this book starts off almost exactly where the last ends. Malone is vying for council seat, and trying to oust Faythe's father. Faythe's attentions are now split between Jace and Marc, and Marc has made it very clear that Faythe needs to choose one or the other.

Now, in my last review, for Shift, I talked about the dynamic of this love triangle a little bit, and how it felt to me as a reader. I have to say, for some reason, even though it totally bothered me in the last book, in this book, it kept me on the edge of my seat, wondering who the hell Faythe is going to choose.

Now, I have to say, for the first half of the book, I was strictly rooting for Marc. But, there comes a point in the book when Faythe's father says something to her about love, and choosing the one she can't live without, that's when I started to have a bit of a change of heart. I found myself also rooting for Jace, almost more than i was rooting for Marc. Now, I'm not going to give away the ending and say who she chooses, but, I will say that I was definitely satisfied with that aspect of it.

This book is also where we have the climax of the council war. Will the Southern Pride beat down Malone and his Appalachian bullies? Will Faythe have her shining moment and figure everything out?

This book was honestly the best of the whole series. And I did have a little bit of trouble with it in the middle, and I put it down for a few days. But I picked it back up tonight, and I literally just finished it. So, obviously, go get this book. Go get this series. You will not be sorry!

Despite the fact that I bought this book as soon as it was released, I did not read it until a short while ago. Why, you might ask would I buy it in October and allow it to lay on the corner of my desk for months gathering dust? Because, durn it, I knew as soon as I started it, it would be the end of the werecat era! I knew that I would read it in one day and then Faythe, Marc, and Jace would have to be placed on that shelf in my mind only to be brought out every time I saw Vincents name or someone else discovered this awesome series and reviewed one of her books. I know that every time I see a review, Ill have to stop and comment as it was one of my most favorite series. I read few series books as soon as they come out, my preferred style is collecting them and reading them in batches as I hate to wait a year between books. I love being able to finish a book at 2 AM and immediately being able to pick up the next book in the series without that cliffhanger driving me crazy for months. This was a series that I would have loved to have seen Vincent do an off shoot of and do several books on the other females (Kaci, Abby and Melody)in this pride. I even think that the Thunderbirds deserved a book or two of their own. I seriously did not want this to end. Yes, it was a great ending, several surprises I did not see coming and a couple I had hoped for. I sincerely wish I was one of the few that had not already discovered this series just so I could read it all back to back. This series had all the things I enjoy the most, a little romance, a great back story, and enough excitement and mystery to feed my need. Thank you Rachel for sharing your wonderful storyline with me and (hint, hint) Id be the first in line to squeal if you every decided to change your mind and return to this fabulous world.
