None of the projects in this book are terribly stunning or well thought out; however, if you are curious about the HOW involved in making altered book art, then this is the book for you. The illustrations of the craft are well thought out and complete, and the suggestions on approaches to take are useful. I generally purchase this type of book for the "eye candy" more than the how-to, being fairly able to muddle my way through tearing up and gluing paper and messing with paints on my own; however, there were some pieces in here that I would not have thought of and thus found the book an enjoyable creative read.
