Hi everyone

Just found this site,  sent out 7 books so far.

my question is:  can I use another site to print labels   such as pp,  and does the label have to say paper back swap?

thanks

You can use any method you want to print labels or postage.   The label doesn't have to say Paperback Swap.

The advantage to using PBS postage is the quick credit and if it goes lost you will still get your credit.  If you use another method of delivery confirmation, you will not get your credit if the book goes lost.

Welcome to PBS!

I use DC with Endicia.com and I have a record of when books are received so that I can easily prove that a book has been delivered.  I have seen a couple of people upset about situations where their PBS or PP postage was not refundable while I can always get a refund on unused postage using Endicia.com (it does require a monthly fee but it is worth it for the money I save and the fact that I can print custom labels no matter what site I am shipping books through).  It might get confusing for someone to receive a book with PP postage but as long as you refer to PBS then they can figure out where to mark the book as received.

This is from the Help Center regarding DC purchased elsewhere.

If you sent the book with DC purchased elsewhere and it has been recorded as delivered by USPS:
  • Contact the requestor from the "lost" transaction in your Transaction Archive.
  • If the requestor does not respond to your PM within a few days, contact us and we will look into it.
  • We cannot grant credit for DC purchased outside PBS, but we can check if this requestor has become inactive.

Amanda (and others), be sure to realize that what they are saying above that they will "look into" is that the requestor is not responding to PMs. Someone recently mistook this to mean that if the book went lost with NON-PBS-DC, that PBS would "look into" and help resolve the problem. They will only look into the fact that the other member is not responding to the PMs and let you know if they think the member is inactive, not the fact that the book is lost and you used other DC that says it was delivered. They won't look into that part.
