I rarely cry when reading a book but this was an exception to the rule. Being the mother of 2 children, this book really hit home. The book is a nonfiction about a teenage couple who manage to fool not only themselves but their parents, doctors, friends and many others into ignoring the fact that they are about to become parents. This book gives graphic details about Amy's pregnancy, dorm life, daily worried life, eventual labor and delivery of her baby, disposal of the baby and the horrendous aftermath. It also details how Brian, Amy's boyfriend, handles the crisis and sends a stern lesson out to young folk. I fully recommend this book and although it's shocking, I think teenagers would receive a strong message about unprotected sex and the consequences.

This is one of the most disturbing stories that I have ever read. I cried many times while reading this, and several times I had to put it down until I was emotionally ready to continue. It was a very good book, but my heart still aches for that innocent little baby boy. Being a first time mom with a 5 month old boy myself, it was really difficult for me to read. I don't understand what makes a mother want to kill her child under any circumstances, and I honestly hope I never do understand it. I almost , but not quite, felt a little sympathy for Brian, but I don't believe Amy felt any remorse whatsoever, and it makes me angry knowing she is out there right now, living her life like nothing ever happened. I hope this haunts her for the rest of her days.

Even though this true crime story is from 1996,i remember the big media coverage this case received at the time. It was very interesting to learn some of the "inside scoop" on the case, learned a few things that were not made public at the time. Good book!!
