Thought I'd post this here, since it might interest some of you. I saw the movie "Amazing Grace" which is historical fiction. It's the story of William Wilberforce who was in the British Parliament. He was instrumental in fighting slavery in the late 1700s. It was a battle he fought for some 30 odd years. Has anyone seen it? I thought it was really well done. I'd never heard of him before, so it was an interesting new bit of history. |

I'm actually going to pick this movie up from the library today. I'm glad to hear it was good. |

I saw it awhile back, and I agree that it was very good. Definitely worth renting. |

I like when I can see a movie, be entertained, and learn a part of history I didn't know about. |

I've watched Amazing Grace and agree that it's an excellent and well-made movie. I also learned a lot about William Wilberforce. Definitely rent or borrow it if you can. |

I've wanted to watch this for the longest time, but it wasn't available in my little hick town. =0) Thanks for the reminder. I'll check the video store again. Maybe they finally have it. |

Before I saw the movie, I had no idea what the history behind the song "Amazing Grace" was. |

I saw this this weekend ... and if you do a search on William Wilberforce, there's a companion biography to the movie out there. And only 3 people on the wish list so far! (me included).
