That is not an announcement from Amazon, though. So its still speculation. I don't want a tablet, but I do hope the rumors for a new Kindle under $100 are true. I'd love to get one for my daughter.

I have an Ipad, and DD got a Xoom. She doesn't use it much, although it seems to be a really nice machine. DH got an Ipad for himself after playing with mine all winter. We haven't been too interested in the others except for playing with them in the store.

I'm finding it's not so much the machine or who makes it as it is the programs that come with it. I have a ton of stuff I can get for the Ipad, but DD is limited right now to what programs she can buy and use on hers.

So I'd be more interested in the price of the goodies Amazon can offer for the tablet rather than the tablet itself. I think content will have to be the selling point.

I know I'm not interested in books for it, since I find the eInk machines much better for reading than the lit tablets. (Even DD carries her Sony around, but doesn't bother carrying the xoom. She says her lapop has more on it so she might as well carry it when she needs it.)

But I do play games on the Ipad, as well as shop, read news and watch Netflix. (All I can do on a laptop as well.) It'll be interesting to see what Amazon offers in those areas to draw people in.

I bought my mom a kindle shes 80 she loves it and the great thing is I can go on her Amazon account and order her books for her when I'm not there to help her she just calls me and tells me what book she wants and she's got it she doesn't have to wait for me to get to the bookstore for her.

I want the 3G with special offers that just got reduced to $139 so bad.....but I don't need it! I already have the Kindle wifi. And a Jetbook. And gave my daughter my old ebookwise 1150. Those special offers don't add up to that much....I wouldn't join the audio book club, so that offer wouldn't do me any good. I already have the Amazon Visa, so that offer wouldn't save me anything. Those were the 2 big ones. Maybe they'll have another big one, that would do me good, then I will have an excuse.

Of course my DH would freak if he knew I was even considering getting one....

Not to mention I need to wait and see what new ereader the rumors say they will be selling later this year....

I still want it! I guess I have to hope they'll put out an offer I just can't refuse!
