If you read the "I Have to Know" thread, you'll know I ordered some books from Amazon, but screwed it all up so that the charges went to my debit card instead of my gift card. Well, now one of the charges has disappeared from my debit card records. I ordered three books from one seller for a total of 16 bucks and now that charge is totally gone. The other charges are all still showing in my records.

What do you think that means?

I'm going to be so mad if they cancel! Two of the books I can easily live without or get elsewhere, but one is a book I really, REALLY want and there wasn't another copy for sale at AZN then.

Valli, Can you contact the seller that you ordered them from? If you have their name, you can probably do it through Amazon. They are usually quick to respond!

I would contact the seller,  I have had to do this a couple of times with Amazon sellers, but not for the same reason and they do respond quick usually.

ETA,  Thanks for the help yesterday,  I got everything worked out and I am sending Valerie her package today, your magic!

Yes, I can send them an email. The purchase is still showing on my account there, just like all of the other purchases I made that day. I just can't imagine why it would just disappear from my bank records. There isn't even a refund showing. The money was added back to my total though.

Weird, huh?

When you are looking at your transactions at Amazon, how can you tell which ones have already been shipped? This whole page looks different from what I remember. Did they change things up there?

ETA: I just found an email that says all three books in the order have been shipped. Maybe they decided to send them as freebies 'cuz I'm just so darn awesome. This is so odd.

Letty, you are very welcome! I'm glad it all worked out. I have to send Valerie a package too! She's going to have a good day for books soon! :-)

Valli, They do have a new tracking system but you can still opt to use the old one. If you go to MY ACCOUNT you can select to view your transactions. The old system works the way it always has and with the new one, if you haven't ordered anything in the past 30 days, you can go to the timeframe that you are serching for. I didn't have a problem with either the old or the new system. Sounds like someone goofed over there!

Hey, I want to know why Valerie is getting packages of books. Who did she bribe? I can offer bribes too, you know.

(And, yeah, Valli -- I have no doubt that Amazon is shipping you freebies due to your "awesomeness" -- but then you'll have to post them here when you're done!)

My guess is, this is a electronic transaction issue. Check your online banking account tomorrow. If it still doesn't show up, you could ask the vendor if it charged your account. I imagine it will catch the omission and charge it eventually anyways.

Uh-oh, now you all know Valerie is the one getting all of the good books. Sorry, Valerie! I hope the H/F mob doesn't do too much damage when they invade your home for the books. ;-)

I think I was having some weird computer or browser issue earlier. I just looked at Amazon again and the page looks normal, like I'm used to it being and all of the info is there again. I found the button that shows the old Amazon look, but the new one is just fine now. Before, it was showing all of my transactions bunched up into a little square that I could barely even read. Definitely a computer problem, I think!

Genie, I'm sure your probably right. I've just never seen a transaction disappear from my banking records like that. I'll keep an eye on it. I have no doubt that they'll charge me eventually. Drat. ;-)

Luckily, the purchases I made at B&N and BCO went right on through, no problems at all! Yes, I bought more books today. I got an email from BCO that said one of my wishlist books was available, so of course, I had to go look. Then, a friend called to tell me about the great B&N sale and I was just done for at that point. Well, my New Year's resolution of NOT buying more books is history. I held out for a total of three days. Gosh, I'm good! lol

Since all of the books I bought were on my wishlist, I was thinking that I'd wipe out OLD wishlisted items in preparation for the NEW year. That makes good sense, right? Doesn't it? Sure, it does!

Keeping a wishlist at BCO is a dangerous, dangerous thing for me! That's a debit card killer! ;-)
