This was a great read, hard to put down, with a lot of less-than-pretty details about Josephine's life before and after Napoleon came into her life. She was a bit of a tart, having numerous affairs within and outside of her marriages. The book details her life, her wardrobe, her spending patterns, and the marks she left behind, including her botanical wonderland at Malmaison. Recommended for fans of historical fiction, history and/or strong females.
