A must for political science junkies. This Frenchman retraces the steps of DeToqueville to discover what makes Americans tick. Wonderful for any student of "how others see us".

Although the travels are fascinating and the author has incredible interviews with notable Americans, this book is not an easy read. The author does retrace the Tocqueville journey. The author's analysis of American political thought becomes very complex.
