I absolutely love David Golemon's books! The reason I never give his books a 5 star rating is because the adventures start out very slowly. It always takes a third of the book to set the scene and do all the back ground stuff before the actual excitement begins. I read a lot and I love books that give you all the detail stuff....but a third of the book (about 150 pages) really puts a strain on a reader to hang in there. If you hang in there....the stories are well worth it! The Ancients is a wonderful story about Atlantis and what would happen if a "Hitler" type of race actually lived among us and continued to take over control of the world. The "why" in how did Atlantis disappear is facinating to say the least. So, if you are tenacious...then go for it....a fantastic read......you just won't believe what happens to the Event Group!

Will The Event Group ever be the same? Heros abound and heartbreaks aplenty. I can only hope Golemon can continue at the same pace. The Event Group is truly one of the best series I have ever read.

The Event Group rides again! This an incredible non stop action romp around the world and through the centuries cumulating in one of the most intense endings ever. Goleman at his very best. Little romance, little real politics, no comments on the state of the world, just action. It does, however, require a pretty robust suspension of disbelief. If you read this one you will have to read "Leviatian" or the one loose end will drive you nuts. These novels are pretty strong stand alone novels, but you should take the time to read them in order to get maximum enjoyment from them.

Too much going on in the story and I read it out of order, so subsequent novels in this series by the author will be a bit awkward. I suggest if you are going to read Golemon you do so in order. Average to good read for this genre.
