I have read all but his last 2 books, his books aren't the cozy kind, they are strictly adult.

Not for the squmish, this is what the Sunday Times says about him.

"Hard-hitting New York attorney, Andrew Vachss, turns the crime novel on its head

creating a starkly real criminal underworld and a different kind of hero-

an outcast, street-sharp, ex-con turned licensed PI, Burke who makes his living

dispensing crule measured justice.

'Vachss writes like a cold switchblade....full of extraordinary and powerful imagery'

if you have read any of his books,  let me know what you think of him.

I love Andrew Vachss!  I haven't read all of the Burke books yet, but I'm working my way through the series.

I agree that they are not for the faint of heart, though.

Oh and he has a great website, if you haven't already found it, Sherry.   www.vachss.com http://www.vachss.com/

Hi Cindy,

Yes I love his web site, I have read everything on it. I sent an email and

got a lovely reply.

I have also ordered 2 books that aren't in the Burke series.

I understand the one coming out in Dec 08 will be his last Burke book.

I can't wait to read it.

The last Burke book?  Now that's just sad!
