Saga of a family in London from 1904-1918. These books are not written very often any more. I grew to care about the characters and enjoyed reading the book very much. Writing is excellent, plot even more so.
This book was written in 2000 but not published in US until 2003.

The first book in Vincenzi's sweeping saga of the Lytton family. Although it starts slowly, it soon picks up speed and by the last page, you already reaching for book two. Set in London and environs in the early 20th century, this is a novel of love, lust and power.

Absolutely loved it!! A book you can sink your teeth into! Gives one a good feel for aristocratic life in the early 1900's. Can't wait to read the next in the trilogy!

I read for at least an hour every night before going to sleep but this book often kept me up longer. I enjoyed it very much.

I read NO ANGEL for the August 2015 "Angel" theme in my online book club, The Reading Cove.

I'm happy to say that I really enjoyed this very densely written family saga and plan on continuing the trilogy!

At 626 hardcover pages, it was not quick reading, but the complexity of the characters and the richness of the setting pulled me right in. I did feel it could've been a good 100 pages shorter. It became repetitive after the first half with a tiresome plot point, but things wrapped up nicely with a bit of an unexpected twist thrown in for good measure, and I'm looking forward to the next book!

I give NO ANGEL a solid B. Good reading!

Loved reading this wonderful family saga with plenty of romance, treachery, scandal and illumination.

Enjoyed the book very much. It was a fast read and was one of those books you didn't want to put down. I even found the second volume and it kept me involved until the end.
