A different type of vampire tale from Yarbro. Read about being a vampire from the perspective of Dracula's brides.

I thought that this was an interesting story of a young lady. She has dreams starting in her youth that she believes comes from an angel. Unbeknown to her, it is really Dracula and if she follows his instruction he will keep her and her family safe from the perils of the time. Describes in detail the journey her family made, then in desperate straits she offers herself up for sale and is purchased for Dracula's slave. Slowly she is changing as her journey to his castle takes place.

I really enjoyed the story and the world created. However, if I read the term "Militant Angel" one more time...let's say I was glad when she got rid of her family. Still a good story and was not at all what I was expecting after having grown up with the Dracula story. A good addition to the original.

I wanted to like this book, I really wanted to get into this author, but I just couldn't. The book didn't flow well, or at least to my taste. I wanted a story that (jumped) quickly into the Angry Angel's time with Dracula and the other Sisters of the Night; at 20 pages with this not in sight, it got harder to read. Finally I just stopped.
