I just saw this on Angus Donald's Facebook page. LOL

Just been to an open casting for the forthcoming film of Henry V: probably won't get a part (even as an extra) but it would be great if I did!

Angus Donald ‎@ John-Barry – I think some guy called Shake-something wrote a pretty good play already. But you're right, I should be doing the screenplay

Angus Donald I've just had a bit of a look online and I have a horrible feeling that I just applied to be in "Henry V in Space" starring Michael Caine and Ray Winston. See http://www.movies.ie/movie_news/caine_for_scifi_henry_v

Angus Donald Oh God! It seemed like a really fun idea at the time: go along and be an archer or a man-at-arms in the background in a medieval film. But in space? Who came up with this idea?

This was in a comment on his blog:

I probably wasn’t thinking straight when I went to the Henry V casting – I had assumed it was a straightforward remake of a classic. What a stupid idea to put it in space – typical Hollywood thinking! On that note, however, I did hear that the guy who was pitching Alien, the brilliant 80s Sigourney Weaver movie, only said three words in the pitch: “Jaws in space”. And that movie went on to be a classic. Well, we’ll see what happens: I doubt I’l get even a walk-on part as second astronaut/robot next to the captain of the star cruiser, when he (Captain Henry) says: Once more unto the bridge, dear friends, once more . . .

Er    uh     Jerelyn.  it's "Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;" . . . . . (if you're hearing that echo in the mind of Henry V at Harfleur)

Bonnie it is a pun,  on "Once more unto the breach...  "

Angus's words not mine. And that movie went on to be a classic. Well, we’ll see what happens: I doubt I’l get even a walk-on part as second astronaut/robot next to the captain of the star cruiser, when he (Captain Henry) says: Once more unto the bridge, dear friends, once more . . .

Ooops!     I guess that showed just how FAR OUT of the pop culture milieu this old woman is!    I am    properly abashed for even doubting Jerelyn , even momentarily.

From Angus's FB Page,

I'm going to be in a film of Henry V – hooray! (And it's not set in space – see my earlier post.) But only as an extra. Very excited as I've never been on a film set before. Being fitted for my costume tomorrow!

For any of you who are on facebook; "like" Angus page in fact like any of your authors pages, the publishers are watching their authors visibility and making decisions about them based on this social media rating.   (It has a name I can't remember what it is actually called).  I know of several authors who are like Angus real quality writers who just might be dropped as their industry struggles.  So support you fave authors on these social media sites.
