Anyone read books by Anne Easter Smith ? Any opinions? Don't really NEED a new author, but...yep, I figured you'd understand!

I made it to page 100 of The King's Grace and it then proceeded to do major wall damage. She threw in a twist on Henry VII and Bess that I didn't quite swallow.

I've read three or four of her books and overall I'd rate her as 2.5 to 3. Mediocre writing and story-telling, and some story lines that are just not feasible--or at least, she needed to sell it a lot better to make it so. Nothing too outrageous (IMO) but pretty sweet on all things York. Not sickeningly so--they aren't saints. I rather liked her take on Perkin Warbeck, although she made it unnecessarily convoluted, IMO. But overall ... I'd recommend her for someone who likes all things War of the Roses or as a bubblegum read of HF with a feel of HR.

We did one as a read-along that was really good. It's the only one of her books I have read, but I'd read another one.  We read "A Rose for the Crown

I have her Queen By Right  on my TBR.   What everyone has said is true, I thought her first books were okay,  but when I read them this time period was new to me and I didn't know much about it.  She is definitely in the Yorkist camp.   The  Kings Grace was as Cathy said was a little hard to swallow.  I got the copy of Queen By Right here,  I wouldn't  buy it new.

I also read A Rose for the Crown for the read-a-long last year and thought it was mediocre as well. I haven't been tempted to try another one.
