Since the site was revamped in the not-so-distant-past, numerous drop-down lists have now become hidden by the graphics. For example, on the Home Page, resting your cursor on the Community link produces a drop-down list, the end of which is hidden behind the "Available Books in Your Favorite Genres..." graphics. This happens elsewhere on the site as well. |

After reading your post I went to the home page and hung my curser over all the drop downs and they all drop down over the background (home page) so that I can read them in their entirety with no problems. Hmmm. I am completely computer illiterate (Leah will vouch for that) so I have no suggestion. I have had that happen before (not necessarily here, but around the internet) and you're right, it's very annoying. |

What browser are you using?

I used IE7 and I get the same thing, the long drop down menus go behind the book images.. It annoyed me at first, but I always click on My Account and navigate from there now. I never use the Home page. I haven't noticed it on any other pages. |

Ok, I have checked this out and YES, it always occurs when you use Internet Explorer (IE7) but NO, it doesn't happen when you use Firefox. If it is annoying enough to you you might want to change your browser. |

It doesn't do it to me on Firefox 3, but I know the drop-down menus are obscured when I have the US map open (to track a book or something). Weird. |

They warned us when they changed the site, that it was primarily geared for FF, but that IE 7 should find few errors (and IE6 would find a few more (to which I can attest :)) I'm not willing to give up and switch to IE7 nor FF at this point. The annoyances are so trivial for me at this point, they have no where near encouraged me to change. This fluke for example, is meaningless to me, as I'm one of those that NEVER goes to the Home page, except to check out somethin someone else is commenting about. Oh, and to use the "Book List Import Bookmark" I do have to use FF, but that's the only time I have to open it, and I only do that every 4-5 months, so not a bother either. When it starts interferring with to many things, then I'll conside switching, but for right now, minor inconveniences just isn't a good enough reason. (Oh, and I don't complain abou them either, I was just 'commenting' here that it is an IE problem :) |
