I just got my 22nd book in the mail yesterday.  While it was only wrapped in the 2 sheets of PBS paper, it was taped nicely and held up well in the mail.  The book was in very good condition.  It was sent First Class and arrived 3 days after it was mailed. I also got a nice PM from the sender.

I have only had 1 book go completely lost and I got a PM from the sender who said that it had been mailed with 2 other books that had all reached their destinations.  I have only had 1 book with some sort of brownish liquid damage, but I dind't look at the packaging closely enough before throwing it away to see if it had been damaged in transit.  Either way, the sender was very gracious and willingly returned my credit.

I know it's so much easier to complain about bad swaps, timed out transactions, and disputes over request conditions than it is to celebrate all of the times when things go right. (After all, look at the titles of most of the forum topics...)

So, for those who are interested, feel free to add on your own positive experiences, good swaps, friendly encounters with other members, prompt responses, conflict resolution, etc etc etc.  Even though the negative posts can be helpful for working through a conflict or question, sometimes it's nice to remember all of the good reasons why we're on this site in the first place!

What a great idea for a thread!

I've found a lot of people willing to go the extra mile--letting me know they have more books in a series on their shelves, helping me find books in the genre forums, and people being just plain helpful.

I recently was posted a pair of WL books by the same person. I PM'd and asked if she'd be willing to add another book as a 3-for-2. She gladly did, sent the whole set via 1st class, and all books were in great condition!

Most of the books I've received have been in near-new condition, and the worn ones have been well within PBS guidelines. One of my two "RWAP" books was a mint-condition book that's perfectly postable (just wrong binding).

All in all, my experience has been great!

I've only had one book received with a problem, and it was still in readable condition so I wasn't all that bothered.  I've received many books in like-new condition.  Most books arrive surprisingly quickly.  I've just reached the top of the WL for a new book in  a series I've enjoyed.  If it weren't for PBS, I would have rushed to the bookstore to buy that new book in its hardcover form.  Thanks to PBS, I could see that I would most likely get it eventually, and in the meantime my TBR pile is large enough that I knew I would have plenty of reading material in the meantime.

As is the case with many other things in life, these forums prompt many of us, myself included to post more bad than good.  All in all, PBS has been a great experience.  My daughter has her own very active account, and she says it's "Like Christmas all year round."

I got a book yesterday that looked brand new.  While I don't expect that type of book, what a JOY to get one.  I've had 200 plus trades here and never had a bad book.   Had one book go lost on it's way to me.    I have NOTHING to complain about!

I've been lucky and received all books in good condition and haven't had to mark one RWAP yet!  None have gone lost yet, although one I sent had to go lost before I got my credit since the member wasn't a member any more.

I'm always so impressed with people who wrap their books in the PBS wrapper well! I got one today that was perfectly wrapped. I'm too lazy to spend the time doing it and usually stick them in envelopes! I also love getting a 'new' book. I send out some of mine looking new, but it's really great to receive one for your keeper pile in beautiful condition.

I have had really good transactions with my books that were sent to me. Everyone is very friendly. Just yesterday I was looking for some chic-lit books and a lady PM'd me to tell me that she had one that I was looking for. I asked her if she would be willing to do a 2 for 1 with me and she happily did. People on here are very nice. Most of my books that come to me have been in almost brand new condition. I did get 1 that I will have to post as a Freebie because it is so worn that it should never have been offered for a Credit in the first place. It was a good read and I think it will go quick as a Freebie. I also was SO excited to get my books the other day that I opened my package outside and dropped it in the mud!! The one corner got stained from the mud so I offered it as a Freebie for a nice person that I have been talking to on here. I was mad because I couldn't offer it for a Credit again, but oh well, that happens! Other than that, my transactions have been smooth. (Knock on wood.. hehe)

Everyone on here is so helpful as well!

I got a book yesterday through FIFO quickly, in great condition, and well-wrapped.  I sent a thank you and exchanged a few PMs with the sender about the series, and now the sender is one of my buddies.  Woo hoo!  :->

Oh, I've had so many great transactions here, I wouldn't know where to begin!  Many, many of the books I've received have been like-new.  I've received several within the same week I requested them which is always so great.  And some of my favorite experiences have been when members PM me to tell me how excited they are to get my book or how they are looking forward to reading it.

I have had nothing but positive experiences.  I have mailed over 70 books--only one "went lost"--and then showed up at it's destination about a week after that.  The 50 books that I have received have all been in very good condition.  One I couldn't repost--I discovered a very small amount of highighting in it as I was reading it--but that didn't bother me too much because it was an older book and not on anyone's wishlist.  All-in-all, it's been a postive experience all around!

I received two wish list items earlier this week and both senders sent them within 24 hours of posting!  It was so much fun to get them in the mail so quickly.

I have to say that I've had only positive experiences here.  I have one small gripe with my mail person - she never closes the door on my rural mailbox down on a road not close to my street - so things get wet or can go "missing".  I changed from my PO Box because we only go there about once a week.  But I'm considering renting a tiny PO Box at the little rural post office (it's a postage stamp size) that's really close to us, but not open the same hours as the big one in town.  I've not had any wet ones come in (glad since only 2 have beenwrapped in plastic first), but had several come in with torn wrappers to the extent that I was afraid of the condition - but they were okay so far.  Until I can get to the little PO I'm asking senders if they would please wrap with some kind of plastic.  Any kind (except seal 'n wrap).  I hope they don't get mad at me!

Oh, I have to confess that I'm sure that one person has a complaint about me!  I don't have a car for myself so I asked my son to mail a box with 5 books 'way last week - and he told me he forgot about it and only mailed it yesterday!  What can you do?  I have to depend on others  a lot, and what is done is done.  I PM'd the requestor and told her and apologized for the delay.  I know they were well-wrapped - they're just really late!  I hope she can get past this bad part.  I won't blame her if she asks me for something to make up for it.

I'm sure she appreciated the PM, Ruthy.  As long as we communicate, most folks are pretty understanding.

I've had hundreds of great swaps here.  And for the very few damaged books I've received, the sender has returned my credit, which clears the slate.  Recently I requested a book, & the sender & I started chatting and she said she had some others by the same author which she hadn't posted yet.  She sent those along, too.  And they arrived 2 days later!

I agree.  Just be upfront and communicate, few of us are that impatient if we know what is going on.

I had ordered a bunch of gardening and flower arranging books this month.

I am getting big Reader's Digest guides in pristine condition.  I am getting hardbacks complete with dustjackets, and that was a nice surprise.  A bunch of lovely books, sent out promptly, nicely wrapped.  I have had wonderful swaps this year!
