Another book "lost in the mail" notification in the inbox this morning. I checked on this book earlier in the week and found that the USPS tracking system says it was delivered 13 September. PM'd the requestor and no response yet. I started using PayPal postage with Delivery Confirmation after two wishlisted books disappeared in January and December and I have used it exclusively since March. (The January book showed up sometime in July, the requestor said my postmark was clearly January and the book looked fine.) I don't know which is worse, knowing that the book has been scanned and the post office thinks it's been delivered and the requestor hasn't received it or just wondering what happened to the book. The books that are never scanned and still show up are also maddening, but I think knowing the book has been delivered to someone but apparently not the right someone is worst. I do seem to be hitting a run of lost in the mail books lately, although a few of them surfaced a few days after being declared lost. |

I'm having the exact same problem with a book right now. Shows as delivered 2 weeks ago but hasn't been marked received and the requester isn't responding to my PMs. I always wonder if maybe the person had some kind of personal emergency and maybe PBS just isn't a priority at the moment. |
