I know I have seen something about this in the past, but I am exhausted and try as I may I couldn't find anything. :(

I have one book I shipped last month that has gone awol evidently. I use pbs shipping on everything, Im not really concerned about the credit, but the dc shows it delivered on the 21st. I know books can go missing, delivered elsewhere, etc. I pm'd asking if they had possibly received, the person said no, community mailbox had been down for over ten days, hadnt gotten any mail, etc. Still hasnt been marked received. But right behind it is another one, I pm'd them too, same inquiry, received another negative on receipt of book.

I'm not doubting these members, that isnt my point here. What I am concerned about, is what if both go missing?? Does that hit my account with two "black" marks for shipping? They were both mailed, dc shows entire transit. But I really really hate for my account to have two dings on it when I shipped them!  Thanks for any info.

Here is the info:

Since the information of the shipping is with the order information, I don't think you'll get a mark on your account at all.   I really don't think TPTB pay attention UNLESS someone complains or it becomes an evident problem.

I'm not sure where the notion of black marks or ding marks comes from.  Not saying it's not true - but it doesn't seem like the type of language TPTB here use.  Can anyone elighten me on the notion that if you do something wrong you get dinged?

I've heard that if you have enough problems (over a percentage) then you get a flag to be reviewed by a person.  At that point your account may be put on hold while they try to contact you.  But the fact that they can see the DC log and it is only two lost books makes me think that you would be way off the problem list.  You account explains itself quite clearly.

There are enough inactive folks to weed out.  That is probably where the attention goes.

Thank you both for the help. Cozi, I'm not really sure where it comes from either, I have just seen it mentioned numerous times in threads (dings, black marks, etc) and it had me wondering.

I've only had one book go missing out of 250ish sent so I'm not terribly worried. I'm bummed they didn't get their books though, they were both highly WL ones. Oh well. I figuired since the info was with the transactions I would be okay, I was just concerned since there were two in a row like that. My books hit the Bermuda Triangle I guess. :)

Thank you both for the help/answers. Goodnight everyone.

Your concern for fellow members is admirable Misty, and I doubt these transactions will become a problem for you.  Any simple check will show enroute scans, and therefore you should be assumed to have properly mailed your books!!
