Anthony's Hat is a cute book about boy and his black hat. In a discussion between him and a little girl, we find that perceptions of situations may differ! Anthony thinks his hat is black. The little girl notes that it keeps changing colors. Both think that the other is a bit confused about colors. The book features African American characters and is a great introduction to colors, differences in perception, and very basic reading. The book is vintage but remains a great teaching tool for young children. You can begin with the primary colors, and work up to higher levels of teaching, as the child gets older. The illustations are simple, but effective. I recommend it.
