I know most of us  try our best to honor our deals and thats what makes this a great site.Maybe last month, I ordered a deal (it was a 5 for 1 ) and I got the book I ordered but nothing else since then I've contacted him and haven't gotten any response..  I'm just hurt that theres a guy out there in PB land who doesn't think anything about not honoring his deal.  Makes me wonder about him !

Probably what happened is that the person running the deal let your request "time out" at which time, your book request moves through the FIFO process. You'll want to watch for that and also keep your PM messages until your transaction has completed.

I've had it happen too due to a time out scenario.  It's too bad too because I got one book that I wouldn't have ordered as a single and it was not the second shipper's fault at all.  Took me awhile to sort out what had happened.

Mary, I'm sorry to hear that this has happened to you. I've been lucky in all the deals that I have been involved in. I have received not only the book(s) that I have ordered but also all my freebies. It's unfortunate that you dealt with someone who did not uphold his side of the deal. My suggestion is that you contact PBS about your situation. I know they don't get involved with deals, but I know that they would if someone isn't upholding his side of the deal. That is definitely a no-no.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Did you check to see if the person you got the book from was the person originally offering the deal? t've been lucky in all but one deal...those books went  "lost" and did the same for at least one other person I know of, and no PMs were replied to. That led us to believe they weren't mailed at all.  :-( Other than that, everyone has followed through.

I had that happen once, but it was my own fault.  I posted my freebies in the BB, but I forgot to PM the sender.  She
didn't check the BB, and since she didn't get a PM she didn't know I was requesting the deal.  I chalked it up to
experience.

The only problem I have ever had with a deal is the time I ordered the book from the FIFO lineup by accident.  I had clicked on the book information to read about the book and ended up hitting Order Book from that page rather than from the bookshelf of the person offering the deal.

I had one deal that ended up getting me 8 books rather than four.  The person sending the books ended up in throwing in the remainder of the books in a series for free.  I offered them a book from my shelf as a thank you, but they declined.

I've had one bad experience. When ordering an ARC. I buddied a credit to the member offering the deal and after the book didn't show up , she gave me some lame excuse but said she would mail the book in the day or so. Book never came and now I see her account is closed. (sigh) there is always ONE.....

Make Sure you are Ordering From the person Offering the DEAL & not thru the System!!   Not his fault if  you dont order directly from his shelf!!!!

This just happen to me.... I recieved the PM excepting the offer I made.  24 hrs later I did not recieve the order  & when I checked there account They had a block.   So I Reposted the deal & someone else got it!!  A few days later she sent me a PM about why She didnt get the Rest!  HEY Not my fault!!  And she was not a newbie!!!!

What happened to Barbara, could be what happened in your situation. You may have ordered from FIFO, thinking that you ordered from that guy when you didn't.

I got my free books to be sure, but WHAT CONDITION! Torn and water damaged, hardly readable.

I have to say this:

Even though messed up deals are sometimes the fault of the in-attention/ in-experience of swappers, there are some swappers that are less then honest, and make bad reputation for the 98% of the rest of us.
