Its somewhat loosely based on Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth series.

I saw it randomly on TV the other night and liked it.  I'm a sucker for medieval clothes....  The "Confessor" girl is really pretty.

Don't expect it to follow too closely to the series.  The already made a major departure from the books within the first 2 episodes.

Well, there was a lot of potential for the show, but they f---ed it up.  I can't for the life of me figure why they would change it so much from the books.  I despise the TV show -- though, had I never read the books, I would probably like it.  Such a shame... the books are so good -- well, the first half of the series, anyway.  The second half was terrible (but that's another discussion).

I was very excited when I heard they were doing a series of the Legend of the Seeker series of books. I've read all but the last one and I loved them. Could barely put them down.

I've watched all of the shows to date and am very disappointed. The series doesn't follow the books at all although if you didn't read the books you won't know who most of the people are because none of their characters are explained. I kept hoping the show would get better but I'm afraid it's not going to and I'm not going to waste anymore time watching it.

Apparently all Terry Goodkind cared about was the big paycheck.

Another thing, none of the actors are right for the characters they play, especially Zed and the Seeker!

The Seeker goes into town. The Seeker is recognized. The Seeker or one of his band is captured. The Seeker saves the day. Repeat.

I think they had to break it down into a standalone episodes loosely tied into an overall story.

You can see the seeker building up the resistance to fight darkan rahl over each episode (his followers are growing with each episode)

but I do agree that it's largely apart from the novels. (the listener? the sisters of the light in a hidden valley? where's the barrier!!!!)

Jrzy i couldn't have said it better myself! Can I just add that I think I saw that in movie form a while back. I think they called it "Star Wars" or something like that. Oh, and killing characters just to bring them back even though they are dead in the books. Nice touch!
