It's a series about the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris.

yes. Wasn't too impressed. Prefer the books.   (Actually some of the stuff on the lead in program HBO did, incl. the interviews with Harris, was good).

Should Charlaine Harris be under horror, paranormal or mystery/thriller???

I'm going to have to catch a repeat .  I only caught the last 10 minutes of it.

Watched it and liked it. Thank goodness I checked the rating before letting my daughter watch it. Wasn't funny like I remember the books. I really liked Sookie's grandmother and even though most people have been saying they didn't like the actor that played Bill, I didn't mind him at all.

cast as Bill?

Overall, the show was a bit of a disappointment.

WOW! I REALLY liked the show! I thought they did a great job going along with the books' storyline considering it's a one hour show.I thought they did a pretty job casting but thought Bill (and Eric-seen in pre-show) would be "prettier". Although I did find Jason and Sam more than made up for any missing "male eye candy".

I gotta say though that I almost fell out of my chair at the sex.I forgot I was watcing HBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought it was ok as well. I'm giving it a chance to grow. I did think Bill would be more elegant but maybe he'll surprise us later on.

I don't have HBO so I'm going to have to get it from a friend who'll tape it for me.  But usually the pilot is the weakest episode of any show.

I am really liking the series on HBO  ...  the scenes between Bill and Sookie are great - terrific chemistry between those two actors!

I'm liking it too. My husband watches it with me but I think the nudity and sex is what's keeping him interested. I don't remember that much sex in the books. It's been awhile and lots of books in between so maybe there was and I don't remember. Maybe it's HBO.

The earlier books had more sex in them so they arent over doing that part. Some bits are in the books at all AKA the Tara related things.

I saw preview for next week and I must say Eric is nothing like I pictured him and does not really fit the description.
