This has to be one of the funniest books I've ever read. A 40- something heroine, newly divorced from her doctor husband, meets up with a 30-something ER doc. He can't possibly be interested in HER, can he, she thinks? After all she's older! Toss in the best written basset hound, Fred, and you have the makings of a great story!

Fast and sun reading! Lucky Daffy Duck shorts, an Incredibra, and a totally adorable basset/beagle dog with a unique personality make for a really cute story.

Do you need a good laugh? This book will help you do it. The 40-year old heroine cannot believe that her 30-year-old hunky neighbor is interested in her. Her Bassett Hound, Fred, keeps steering them together. Hilarious! My rating: 5 Stars.

40 yr old divorcee, get a dog and moves into an apartment above a 30 yr old hottie, who seems immature and unsettled on a career choice. Turns out he is a hot choice, and the steam starts to rise.

Cute book. Loved the dog and the tension between the couple.

Easy quick read.

I wasn't really sure about this book when I picked it up. Recently I had some bad experiences with stories that involved animals with them being just pointless and dull. That was not the case with this book. Nina and Alex had great chemistry and it was a refreshing change to have a romance story where the characters were not Barbie doll perfect. The secondary characters were wonderful as well. In fact, I would love for Max to have his own story. Then, of course, there is Fred. I just fell in love with him...lol. This is a very easy read (I finished it in a couple of hours) but you will not be sorry that you picked up this book.

THE LAST THING NINA NEEDED WAS FRED
She was beginning life fresh -- new job, new apartment. No husband. All she wanted was a puppy. A happy, perky puppy.

Instead she got Fred. Part basset, part beagle, part manic-depressive.

She loved Fred. Everything was great. Well, her best friend went through men like tissues and somehow Nina had to single-handedly save the company she worked for, but her life was great. Until Fred brought home Alex Moore -- poster boy for lonely women. NO, NO, NO she yelled at her hormones and her heart. Anyone but Alex.

Still, Fred did have very good taste...
