Hi, All! I'd love an e-reader, but not the price. CVS has one called "Look" which is cheap. Anyone know anything about it? Is it worth it? Thanks! |

I've not heard of it but sometimes you get what you pay for....we bought a netbook from CVS for $100 and soon returned it because it was very cheap. Here is a review from October 2010 - basically they didn't like it. there are several others that don't like it either how much does it cost? you can get the wi-fi kindle with ads for $114. I have that one and the ad is only on the main screen when you turn the device off and a small banner ad at the bottom of the home page...nothing while reading. |

I don't know much about them, and asked the sales person what format they take since I couldn't get that from the box. The sales clerk said she didn't know, but that the ones they sold were all being returned. Not good news for them. |

I never heard of it. I think it's called the Lookbook and I found this link online: http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2010/10/08/my-cvs-lookbook-arrived/ The article says it's a Kindle clone but also resembles the Literati. This review was written in Oct 2010, so it is possible the Lookbook has gone through different versions since then. This is the product description from CVS: http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_product_detail.jsp?skuId=812108&productId=812108 If this $129 price is what you get in stores, you could get the Nook 1st Edition (the first generation Nook) for $119. And, it has web capabilities. Anyway, that link at CVS has a wide variety of reviews. You might like to read through them to see what people have thought. It's $60 and comes with a $10 off next purchase coupon. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider it. |

I just bought a kindle for only $114 (it is the one with the adds) but they are not bad it is only on there when it goes to sleep. I would defanitly do research before getting one. So far I love my kindle and an very happy I bought it! |

$60 is a pretty good price. If you go into it knowing it's low end, then it might be a good deal, especially if you can't afford the Nook or Kindle at this time. If it used ePUB and PDF books, then it might not be so bad. Later, if you can afford a better reader, you'll be able to transfer your books over. If it takes it's own format, then I would avoid it because you'll be stuck with books that can't be read anywhere else. Last Edited on: 9/5/11 1:21 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
