My 7 year old nephew is REALLY into it and I wanted to see if it was just a local thing or not.

My son is going to be 6 this fall and he is very much into Pokemon right now too.  I was looking for a deal on some of the books since there are so many listed in the system I thought it would be an easy find ... not so much LOL  I ended up ordering a few from PBS but have found several at garage sales for him too.

From what I understand they've been around for over 10years now and just seem to keep going strong.

All of my kids like it.  My 9 YO son is the most into it though.  He reads the books, collects the cards, watches the movies etc...

My son is 6 and very into it. His friends at school would trade cards. My little one who is 4 and of course takes after his brother.

Does anyone actually understand anything about it? :)

Yes - my sons (ages 4 & 6) LOVE Pokemon.  We are from Massachusetts.

The kids at his primary school are all into it so my oldest got a few cards from his friends.  No he and my youngest are addicted to Pokemon...that is all I hear about night and day. Pokemon, Pokemon,  Pokemon, Pokemon....when will it end???????

It ends at 12. That's when I see the boxes of cards showing up at garage sales. Don't buy the cards new if you can help it! Look for boxes of cards showing up at the end of summer, when all of a sudden the boys grow up. We have 100's, but I haven't spent much money on them. Church sales are great.

They are prettier then the Yu-gi-oh cards.

The game itself is not that hard, just a very complicated version of War.

My son, 10 loves Pokemon, and has for several years.  For the last 2 years he has been more into the Nintendo DS Pokemon games than the cards though.  We live in NC.
