I got the lost notice about 10 minutes ago, but it's still not on my wishlist.... this is for an audio book I already received, the 2nd (now lost) one was sent on autorequest when the first one went lost because books rarely reach me before the PBS deadline and it went back on my list and was marked mailed before I got back to my computer and was able to cancel....  I really don't want a 3rd copy but I can't sit at my computer all morning waiting for it!!!!!  ARGH!

If there are other copies of the book in the system, then the lost book goes on your reminder list and not your wish list.  Have you checked there?

It should appear on your wish list immediately. If it's not there, it's most likely on your reminder list.

It's surprising that you got a second copy of a book mailed so quickly. As Sarah says, lost books only go on your wish list if there are no other copies available, so that means it must have been posted almost immediately after you went back on the wish list for it.

AHA!!!  You're right; it was on my reminder list--phew!! 

Now that I know how that works, it's doubly weird that it happened that way for me... and THREE times, no less (3 different titles)!!  I wrote to R&R yesterday asking them to please change the setting to NOT autorequest when it goes back on your wishlist, because it's about driving me nuts!!  

Edited because I'm a big dork LOL!!  I thought 2 of the duplicates were audio, but only one was.  :-p  Still, I really wish they would change it to add to your wishlist but *NOT* autorequest, so it can't possibly go out the 2nd time without the option to cancel!

That is strange that it does that.  When the book goes back on your reminder list and you get the email from PBS, they recommend you not re-order for 2 more weeks, just in case the book is still enroute.  Yet if it's not in the system, it goes back on auto-request WL where it, theoretically, could get posted that same day and go out to you.
