Does anyone know of an agency that helps pay internet bills?

My husband lost his job before Christmas and I have been covering the bills with my paychecks.
I completelty overlooked the internet bill, and now I am late 125.00, due tomorrow.
I do all of my work and schooling online, so I am disturbed when they told me they would turn me off tomorrow if I don't 'remit payment'.

I am not trying to stress anyone, I just wondered if you knew of any resources I may have overlooked.

Details: I do not have a landline phone, or a wireless router, so free internet services are out.
I live in a small town, (Whitwel, TN) so internet cafe''s are not an option.
We do not qualify for a bank loan since my husband is not working right now.
My family is not in a position to help.

Please let me now if you have any ideas for me that I may have overlooked.

Thank you for your time.

Any organizations that I'm aware of only provide assistance for what are considered "life sustaining"  bills - electricity, gas, water, rent, food, doctor visit/medications, etc.

Have you checked with your employer and school to see if they have any suggestions?  Have you tried getting an extension on your bill through your internet provider?   What if you make a partial payment?

Thank you for your response, Hun.

They may accept partial payment, but I am unsure because it is all a past due amount.
It's sad that it is not considered life sustaining when it is my sole source of income. lol/sigh

My adacemic counselor suggested logging on at the library.
That will work for school, perhaps, but will be a bear for my job which eats up more hours of my day than the library has open.

Thank you for those suggestions.
It helps to have more than one mind trying to sort this out.

Can you get a school loan to use for school  and school supplies. I would  think that you could then use it for the internet payment.  Do you have family that you could borrow from? If you had 5 family members who would loan  you $25 that would pay for it. I would see if your local church knows of resources.  Go around the neighborhood and ask people to donate their returnable bottles and cans  to you and explain the circumstances. In our area we can dial 211 and there is a list of resources that can help people.  Put the amount on a credit card, this will pay it and will give you a month to save and pay it when the visa bill comes.  Remember by putting it on visa you can pay it off in smaller amounts you will have interest but it would beat not having a paycheck.  You should be able to call them and put it on a credit card.  Since you work from home would your boss be willing to help you pay it as a loan, so you can keep working. Look for cheaper internet service or another internet service if they disconect you. Let me know how it all turns out. Phil

I was just thinking can you go to one of those get cash now places.  I know interest is high but you might be able to get the money you need. Jean
