has anyone else seen a lot of requests come there way now that february 15th is coming up and members are being asked to renew/pay again for their membership? i have had 12 requests so far this week. and i had almost 40 books go out last month. is this like when they first told us last year that we  would have to start paying to use the site? are members using up their credits and jumping ship? just wondering.

No jumping ship here.  I buy most of my books at yard sales. Membership here is well worth the fee to be able to locate favorite author publications that I can't seem to come across.  I have a serious adversion to paying full price (for anything!)

Of course I may never get around to reading all the books I have and those I'm looking for, but retired and average 1 every 2 days so maybe?!

I had one of my friends jump ship.  I hated to lose her, she was my first friend.  But she did PM me last December and tell me she was probably going to leave in January.

I've had about the same requests. I'm sending out a few more right now, because I'm running a special. I'm staying, too. There are so many wonderful cozy series that I want to start, and I like to start at the beginning and read them in order. It's hard to find the ones I want just by hitting rummage sales and thrift stores.

I am staying its well worth it! I get most of my books from yard sales, thrift stores and library book sales but when I get a chance to get some on my reminder list I certainly do so. I also LOVE finding books that are on my lists here when I am out.

I've sent out a zillion books in the last month.  50+ easily.  A couple of packages were deals, and I posted a whole passel of books, but I've got a lot of credits right now.

(I already paid for my renewal)

I have renewed my membership but I have had an unusal number of requests in the past couple of weeks as well. I'm fine with that as I can get books off of my wish list faster that way!

I'm ordering lots of books.

I'm getting rid of my credits because the site just isn't working for me anymore.  The cost is miniscule, but even a miniscule cost has to get me something in return.  I haven't received a WL book in months, I haven't seen anything interesting posted FIFO, the site has way too many glitches for the money they're getting.

I'm burning credits, ordering books for my son.  If I have any left on the 15th, I'll donate them to a friend.

Because of my wife's health I depend on this site to get a lot of her reading material & then trade it here when she's done.  In the last year my transaction list shows I've filled about 150 requests.  But I do a lot more book swaps, and over the past year I've done well over a hundred of those with who knows how many books on average.  So it's well worth it for me.  We'll see how the membership responds once the 15th passes, but I hope it's still as active as it's been this last year for me.

I've already renewed my membership for next year.  I love this site, and intend to stay!  I haven't had very many requests except for the books that I've offered in deals though.

I've gotten 80 books since Jan. 10th with 7 more on the way, but it has nothing to do with Feb. 15th approaching.  This is very unusual for me to get to get so many books in a month.  Since I had a lot of credits, I told my grandson that he could order some books.....well, he might have gotten a little carried away because he ordered 82 books. Of the 82 books he ordered, 80 are the books I've received, 2 of the 7 on the way are for him, and 5 are for me.  He ordered a lot of the classics, and a lot of books on philosophy.  He even added to my WL, lol!  When he realized how many books he had ordered, he was a little worried about me being upset with him.  I told him not to worry about me being upset, I still have plenty of credits, but if he ordered that many again I wouldn't have any left.  I've always sent off more books that I have received.  Besides, I'm the one who hooked him on reading.
