Has anyone read Ann Aguirre's Corine Solomon series?  I saw the books at B & N and was contemplating asking for it here at PBS.

I have.  I really enjoyed book 1 - Blue Diablo and have recently gotten book 2 - Hell Fire, it is on my TBR pile.  I don't know who to really compare it too...  Maybe LL Foster or Ilona Andrews.  It has been a while since I have read it.  I think I remember it being kinda a slow start and I wondered if I was really going to get into it, but I remember wishing I had book 2 to read right afterward cause I had gotten into it that much by the end.

I LOVED these books!  I'm not sure who to compare them to either, but I think you'll like them.

Taking a look at your WL, I thought I should warn you that these books are urban fantasy, not paranormal romance. There is a bit of romance in them, but it definitely plays a secondary role. I read both, but I know it's nice to know beforehand what to expect.

I did not like Blue Diablo at all. I did not like the main character and even though I finished reading it, I was looking forward to the end just to be done with the book.

Man...I just added these, Michelle. You had to go ruin it for me.

But, considering 98% of the time I agree with you, I guess I will avoid this one. Or get it from the library.

i often agree with Michelle too, but i thought Blue Diablo was ok.  when i read the next one, i'll have a better idea about whether to recommend the series or not - but i did get the next one.

i do really like her sci-fi series that starts with Grimspace, and Ann Aguirre is also writing contemporary sort-of paranormal romances as Ava Gray.  i liked Skin Game, but haven't read Skin Tight yet.

I read skin game and liked it but could not get into skin tight. I started it, stopped it, started it again and then finally gave up. I do have to admit that Razorland, the series coming out in 2011, looks very interesting.

I read Skin Game and Skin Tight and loved them both and can't wait for the 3rd. Skin Tight was a better and tighter read then Skin Game. There are weaknesses in the storyline, but for some reason, they just don't bother me.

I've read both books and although I enjoyed them I like the Sci Fi series (Grimspace)  better.  The next book in the series will be released soon and I plan to read it also.

I have not read her Sci Fi books... I'm on the WL here and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on them.

But I did enjoy Blue Diablo and Hell Fire if for no other reason they were unique and not like everyother UF out there.... (Me thinks mes getting into a rut!)  The main character can be a bit annoying but isn't that true of almost all the UF main characters/??
