supposedly it chronicles the author's past generations which included well known people in history.  However, the genealogy chart at the beginning of the book, while helpful, does not indicate who this/these person/people are that  are well known of the Sedgwick name.

What am I ignorant about about the Sedgwick name?  I'm looking forward to reading this book but would like to know what background info I should be familiar with!

Edie Sedgwick was a model and very much involved with Andy Warhol in the 60's...I'm not sure how John is related to her, but I suspect she is mentioned.

I have not read the book, but I have read Edie's biography, Edie: American Girl, which is very good.
