If by The Walking Dead series you mean the comic book, then yes, I've read the 1st 25 issues.  I enjoyed it, the art was nice and clean and it was well written.  Even though it is of the zombie apocalypse vein, and there are plenty of zombies around, the stories are really well written character studies, focused more on the "how they react" as opposed to "make them react".  There are a bunch of TPBs out now reprinting them, and I would recommend them!

I dont think its a comic series. I might be mistaken though. Its by Robert Kirkman. I happend upon them on PBS, it says their paperback with like 100 and some pgs. One is The Walking Dead:Days Gone By. Is this the comics your taking about ?

I just searched for it here, and that is the comic.  It says 144 pages, so it's going to be the 1st story arc, I think it was 6 issues, but I cannot recall for certain.  Kirkman is the writer, and again, all of my above comments apply.  I looked for the other book you mentioned as well, and it is another comic, 96 pages, so it was probably a four issue series that was collected.  Steve Niles is the writer behind 30 Days of Night, but I've never read any of his stuff.

Thanks so much for your help. I wasnt quite sure I wanted to read a comic, but I'll give it a try, it sounds good.

Not a problem.  I think that you might be surprised, comics have come a long way from what most people remember as kids.  Thats not to say that there is not a lot of testosterone fantasy, but if you look around, there are a lot of other good things to look at as well.  Enjoy!
