I saw it at Target and almost bought it but I've been on a buying spree lately with books and decided to hold off. I almost didn't realize it was a historical with the title and the cover. |

I'm planning to buy it with my Christmas gift cards. I don't want to wait a year for the PB version to come out. I've read several reviews that said it's really good. |

I finished it last night.....I thought it was very good. Not as good as her older works, but still worth the read. I absolutely love that she set in the Highlands, Colm MacHugh is just what this reader needed lately, very sexy and macho. Also, Brodick Buchannan from Ransom makes a few appearences. If you love her historicals, this one is worth it too.

I don't know, so far I'm seeing mostly negative reviews about it, and from a few girls in my historical reading group who did get it, so I'm holding off for now. |

I have to admit it is not as good as previous books...but I did like it. The only big negative for me is that it took so long for the two main characters to meet. It didn't seem like we had enough time to get to know them. |

I finished the book last night. I enjoyed it. I thought the two main characters were wonderful together. But it did seem as though their scenes together were rushed. Not enough was written about their interaction. Brodrick does make a few appearences, but Gillian does not. I would have liked to see interaction between Gillian and Gabrielle. The book was good, but her previous historical novels had more substance. They explored the relationships between characters expecially main characters more. Although a great read, the writing did seemed rushed. |

Phew, thanks for explaining that the Buchanan guy was from Ransom..I couldn't remember where he was from! I hope that Shadow Music is better than Shadow Dance was...I was VERY disappointed in her writing. Her historicals are great, The Wedding is my all time favorite historical. I was so excited to see a book for Noah Clayborne, but very let down (although it was cool that he was related to Cole Clayborne from her For the Roses series!). I'm going to have to track that down at the library, they have it, but already have 3 people on the waitlist for it. I wish she would continue with the characters from The Wedding! I think I have Ransom...I may need to re-read it:) |

Oh Ransom is my all time favorite by her followed by The Wedding! I wish she would have given the secondary characters in Ransom their own story too. Sherri |

I read it in one sitting... I won't recommend it. I read until about 3am, after a while you start skimming words b/c you want to sleep. I too, wasn't impressed with the book. It was great to see Garwood get back to Historicals, but not totally satisfiying! I felt that the hero and the heroine weren't together a lot in the book. Also, when the hero would go away to fight the bad guys, it would be written "he was gone for 5 days" No information about his time away or his feelings about being away from the heroine. One chapter began about the two being together for 2 weeks, but nothing about those two weeks. More detail, would have made it better. |
