I think I asked about this book before. But I just did a search for threads started by me in this forum and it said there weren't any.  And I just have too many posts to search through. Also all the key words bring up too many posts. I checked my TA and I think this was just before I joined PBS and it probably went to Half-price books.  It would be a book from 2006-2007.  Romantic Suspense

I was thinking about a book I read a couple of years ago and really liked. I'm more trying to find the author to see what else they've written-this book might have been part of a series.  I might have even read other books by this author-but it's bothering me that I can't remember it.

Here's the basics as I remember them: Hero is military, probably some special forces type afraid of committment. Heroine is I think the best friend of his sister. She's always loved him.  They finally hook up for I think was just a one nighter but might have been a short fling.  He knows she loves him.  He leaves for a mission or something without telling her and then doesn't contact her for like 2yrs.  Their little fling produces a daughter.  He comes back into her life when the kids is a little over a year old.  She leads him to beleive at first that it's not his. She's in danger.  I want to say the danger is that she's being framed for stealing money from work but it could be that the danger is related to an enemy of his.  It's a full length romantic suspense and not like a Harlequin Intrigue type book.

(sorry this is so long) I'm hoping someone will remember this and this time I will I will right it down and search for the author immediately.

It's not that one. I have that book in my TBR.

I want to say this had a red cover with a couple on it-but I would be misremembering. The child was definately a girl and I'm remembering her having curly blonde hair like the mother but the father's eyes-which is why the heroine has trouble passing the kid off as someone else's-she looks too much like the hero.

I saw it at the thrift store today!  Turns out I have a bunch of hers already.  It was on my Transaction Archive but I didn't recognize it.   Turns out I have a lot of her books in my TBR but they're all futuristic types.  I'll have to check her website out and see if there's any that go with this one.

It's Kiss Me Deadly
Author: Susan Kearney

ETA: I'm submitting an edit to add the book description.  Her life is in danger because of a winning lottery ticket.

Her life is in danger because of a winning lottery ticket.   LMAO.  Am I just being silly, or is this really a funny statement?!  Of all the things to endanger her life.....A Lottery Ticket!   LOL

Well it would put you in danger if it was missing, worth millions and everyone connected with it was being murdered.

Oh, I see.  The story is a crime mystery.  I didn't get that right away.  sorry.  I just read that sentence without context and it hit me as funny.
