It was contemporary. I read it in about 2005 I think but it was not new. I would say at the earliest it was written in the 90s. It takes place at a resort with cottages. I think it was on an island in the pacific northwest. I seem to remember them having to regularly take a boat or small plane to get places. It had a Jayne Ann Krentz feel to it but I have not been able to identify it as one of her books. The main character works at the resort and is somewhat of a free spirit and he is a guest at the resort . They meet when she is delivering something to his cottage. They get together and she ends up pregnant but he leaves before she knows. He comes back and discovers she is pregnant. She doesn't really want his help but something may be wrong with the baby. I think they ended up with twins. There was an older woman working at the resort and she is raising her granddaughter who had some medical problems but the hero helps pay for treatment. I also seem to remember something about muffins. I don't know if she made muffins or maybe she was bringing a basket of muffins to his cottage. Does this book sound familiar to anyone? Thanks! I'm drawing a blank..for a minute it reminded me of a Susan Anderson title I read a while back with the resort but dont' remember the other part.think it was All Shook Up. I don't recall any JAK stories where the hero leaves the heroine and comes back though..seems like they're usually stuck like glue to her...sounds good though! |

Yeah, it sounds a bit like that Susan Anderson, but not with the pregnancy/twins. That character already had a son, too. |

It reminds me of Susan Anderson also but without the pregnancy. |

How about The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs. The review at the Romance Reader gives a better description than the one here at PBS. I loved this series. Jane |
