The way there are "summer reads", typically light, fun, easy reads, do you have autumn reads or end-of-summer reads? I usually just pick something off my TBR pile that sounds like it'd fit my current mood or an old favorite that again, fits my mood. But that's year round for me. This time of year I'm usually in the mood for something spooky or creepy like a gothic story or true crime. |

Me too! I'm kinda nerdy and like to read books that correspond to the upcoming fall/winter holidays too. I'm always open to holiday book suggestions, just no romance :) |

I have just started "The Biograph Girl" by William J. Mann. It is a little deeper and darker than the chick lit I have been reading this summer. However, I will probably go back to it after this one. |

I'm just starting Interpreter of Maladies. It's a little different than the classics or historical fiction that i normally read. when school starts I usually want something that's good and relatively serious...but not academic. I get enough of that in class! We'll see how this one goes. After this I think I'll go for Love in the Time of Cholera (sp?).

I usually just grab a book to read off my shelves, whatever appeals to me, but I notice in the winter (around Feb., usually), I get a craving for thick, family saga type books. Or sometimes I get the urge to spend the month reading all my series books or finishing series I started before. Last Edited on: 8/30/08 9:47 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Biograph Girl has been sitting on my shelf for over a year. I must have picked it up cheaply at a rummage. I've be really interested to know how you like it, Brandi, and see if I should get motivated to read it! |

I'm reading Skeletons at the Feast and I am having a hard time putting it down - WWII epic stuff. Bojhalian needed a great book after The Double Bind, which I hated. |
