I am on the brink of deciding to switch to this curriculum next year. If I do, there will be lots of happy campers here because I'll have a ton of Ambleside books to post.

Anyone use MFW? Thoughts? What's good about it? What's bad about it?

I haven't used it but my girlfriend loved it. She used it for 2 years then her son went to private school. She told me if she ever goes back to homeschooling she would use it again.

She said it's a reasonably priced curriculum and has a good science base.

Have you checked out reviews at www.HomeSchoolReviews.com yet? They usually have lots of opinions.

I just finished up their ADVENTURES program.  My 2nd grade and K child did most of it together and we all enjoyed it a lot.  I do plan to continue with MFW for the long haul.   I like how it gives me a basic skeleton, but I can add as much as I want through their "book basket" time.

Don't get rid of your Ambleside books too soon.  You may use them with MFW.

Oh yeah get rid of those AO books who needs them!(joking) Many do overlap.

We used MFW for K and really loved it.  I was PG at the time and I liked not having to plan everything out.  I have meet the family I like their philosphy of life and learning.  I have a plan that works right now but they are on my short list for the high school years.

See, that's the draw for me, too. My little one starts kindergarten in the fall, and it would be *so nice* to have it all laid out for us nice and neat, while not giving up the great books. Thanks for the feedback!
