I was wondering if there is anyone who would like to start a mystery book club? Or, if you know of one that already exhists. I'm looking for something where you read a book together and discuss it together online. Once done, go on to another book. I personally don't want to be the leader on this one...anyone brave enough to start one?

I don't want to be the leader either, lol. But I'll join if someone else starts one up. |

I think it would be hard for me to be in a bookclub. I don't know which book I am going to read next until my hand reaches to the bookshelf! And sometimes even then it just kind of "hovers" there until my brain catches up! So many decisions! Huh, now that I think about it, maybe a bookclub to tell me what to read next just might be the answer! Last Edited on: 11/18/08 6:26 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

In the Historical Fiction forum they are doing a book of the month. A different person leads every month and they take nominations for books by different subjects. All of the nominations are listed by the leader and that person picks the winner. The usual method is to put the nominations in a hat and pick one or number them and have someone pick a number etc... They then start the book at the beginning of the month and a lot of those books are so long that they divide the discussions by so many pages and as people read those sections they input their thoughts. I don't know if this helps any but if we can find enough people to lead each month I would be wiling to be a leader one month. |

Debbie, I think that sounds like a good plan. If we take turns leading the discussions, posting questions, etc. |
