I just logged in to mark a book mailed and found out that I had another book requested (ok, yes, I'm happy about the request!) **but** I didn't get ANY email notification about the book request. Strange....

When was the book requested? Maybe you happened to open the book request before you got the email? Also, check your spam folder to see if the email notification went there.

As far as I know there's no problem with email notification right now. I was just notified that I had a book request about 5 minutes ago.

Two ideas: 1- maybe the request came in just before you signed on and the email has not reached you yet. 2. If your internet security software had a recent update, sometimes the update will reset your saved settings and begin blocking emails that normally go through. Check your Junkmail folder and see if the email is in there. If it is then that is what has happened.

Just plain weird!

I waited, rechecked my email, double-checked my spam folder (although pbs is added to my "safe senders" list) ... still no email about it.

Off to mail another book! YAY! Can't complian too much, right? ;-)

On your main account page, click on the link that says Club Communications. If the PBS system did send you an e-mail, it would be there. What may or may not have happened to it between PBS's server and your e-mail server could remain a mystery, but at least you will know if PBS did send a notification. Occasionally I know there are delays where the emails don't arrive for several hours after they were sent...not sure why, but when I notice it, usually there is someone asking a question like this in the forums. :)

I just went and looked, because I had a book request waiting when I checked in just now, and there was a notification waiting in my email. So it doesn't appear to be a system-wide problem unless it's really recent. (later than about 3 hours ago).

You may want to add Noreply@paperbackswap.com and librarian@paperbackswap.com to you email address book. Just in case your email account it somehow blocking them.
