Amelia Peobody is at it again! In this 10th book in the series, Amelia takes up the cause of rights of women while dealing while digging at a less than exciting site. Enter in a mysteries papyrus, their faithful Reis, Abdullah and threats to her person. This one has a bittersweet ending but still one of my favorites.
All of the Amelia Peabody [Emerson} books are great, particularly the earlier ones. If you like to read about Egyptian archaeology, intrigue, and a really interesting late 19th to early 20th century English, archaeologist family, you'll like these books. And Elizabeth Peters (aka) knows her stuff I guess one of the things I really like about her books is that she sets the time period to the Howard Carter years and brings in lots of the local contemporary Egyptian culture from that time period as well. And the "tongue in cheek" humor is really great!
Wow, wow, wow! Amelia Peabody Emerson is at it again. The plot thickens. A new/old predator is after her. The plot thickens as disturbing personal problems decend on the Emerson clan. This is a real page turner!!
Book 10 in the series. Abridged, 4 tapes, aprox. 6 hrs. Read by Samantha Eggar.
Amelia Peabody at her outrageous best. One of the best books in the series
Another great Amelia Peabody book
Another in the Amerlia Peabody series....her new expedition to the Valley of the Kings, Upper Egypt, 1907.
If you like Indiana Jones, this one's for you
The Amelia Peabody books are the best - witty, tongue-in-cheek, completely engaging. This one has some particularly cool bits.
Not my cup of tea, but my friend loved it!
Many of Amelia adventures stand out, but this one really does. To say way would be giving the story away. Enough to say read this one.
Interesting and enjoyable. You really feel like part of the Emerson family.
#10 in the terrific series about Amelia Peabody and her archeological family as they uncover the secrets of ancient Egypt at the turn of the 20th century.
Wonderful Amelia Peabody murder mystery! Ah, Egypt!
An exciting adventure (Egypt, 1907) into antiquity with archaeologist,Amelia Peabody, and her friends. About stolen treasures, cults, a ruthless killer and surprising secrets.
Another great Amelia Peabody mystery! I thought the stories when Ramses was a small child were the best, but this series keeps getting better! I'm truly addicted to them!
