Right now Im reading Year Zero (this book is REALLY good and yet I have never heard anyone talk about it:(

Simon Clark' writes alot of  apocalyptic style books - Blood Crazy and Stranger are both very good.  He also wrote Day of the Triffids which is his spin on what happens 30 years after Nght of the Triffids (the old b&w sci-fi - horror movie/book).

WOW Sara-Thanks for pointing me to teh Hidden GEms Thread.I now have a huge list of apocalypse books!! And Thanks betty jean for your suggestions:)I've actually read those Simon Clark books and did really enjoy them:)
