I teach Masters students in Reading Education. Their Capstone paper is an action research project. Of all the action research/teacher research books I've reviewed, this one is by far the most direct, approachable introduction to classroom action research. The newer, 2nd edition is an excellent revision of this edition which includes a chapter on the use of technology in action research.
