3M Cloud Library eReading App Now Available Through Barnes & Noble’s NOOK Apps™ Storefront
—-
NOOK® HD, NOOK HD+, NOOK Tablet™ and NOOK Color™ users can wirelessly access 3M Cloud Library

The 3M Cloud Library App is now available in Barnes & Noble’s NOOK Apps store, making it easier for owners of NOOK tablets to borrow eBooks from local libraries. Anyone with a NOOK HD, NOOK HD+, NOOK Tablet or NOOK Color can download the 3M Cloud Library App directly from the NOOK Apps storefront, and then transfer digital content wirelessly to their device without having to physically connect to a computer.

“The 3M Cloud Library App offers NOOK users seamless access to lendable eBooks through their local library,” said Tom Mercer, 3M Library Systems Digital Business Development Leader. “We’re excited to be once again improving the eBook experience for even more library users.”

3M is continuously introducing new features to further improve the look and functionality of its eLending system, including improved search capabilities. Users can now opt to browse only titles that are immediately available for check out, eliminating unnecessary time spent perusing books that are currently unavailable – a capability offered for library-based lending exclusively by 3M Cloud Library.

“As the 3M Cloud Library system launches at libraries across the country, we gather feedback and translate it into updates and enhancements that make the system smoother, easier and more intuitive,” said Matt Tempelis, 3M Cloud Library Global Business Manager. “We are proud of our position as a leader in this industry and will continue innovating to provide the best service possible for both library patrons and staff members.”

With its turnkey system of digital content, in-library hardware, and apps for borrowing and reading, the 3M Cloud Library promises to revolutionize how library patrons discover, borrow and read eBooks. The system is compatible with PCs, iPads, NOOKs, and Androids, allowing patrons to read on their personal devices. It also works with 3M eReaders, which patrons can check out like any other lendable materials. Inside the library, 3M Discovery Stations help patrons browse the growing catalog, currently standing at more than 200,000 titles from over 300 publishers, on electronic kiosks.
