Just finished "Alas Babylon," the book about life in the US after most  is wiped out by nuclear bomb attacks. This is a relatively old book, but it's amazing how well it stands up over time.

Almost finished with "Mediterranean Summer," the nonfiction account of a very high-level professional chef who leaves the 4-star restaurants he's been at in California and New York, and signs on as the chef on a big sailboat for a summer on the Riviera, owned by a mega-rich couple. It's a great read, both for the food and the travel aspects.

Keep picking up and trying with Toni Morrison's "Paradise." I usually love her books, but this one is really hard for me to get into, for some reason.

Also just finished "Burning Angel" by James Lee Burke, in my re-read of his Robichoux thriller series in order. He's my favorite author, so no bad books, but I think that one may be one of the very best.

I'm halfway through Mary Higgins Clarks's  I Heard That Song Before.  The title bugs me, though.  Shouldn't it be I'VE Heard that Song Before?

Just finished "Riding Lessons" by Sara Gruen.  After reading this, I'm very much looking forward to the sequel.  It's a great story that I just couldn't put down.

Since I'm almost in the top 10 of the wishlist for "Shopaholic and Baby," I figured I better work hard to catch up!  Just started "Shopaholic Ties the Knot."

I'm doing "The Probable Future" by Alice Hoffman and "A Dirty Job" by Christoper Moore and  a couple Non-fiction.  All are really good so far, sort of my stand by authors.

I'm currently reading "Acacia" by David Anthony Durham. Apparently, he has previously written historical fiction and this is his first foray into epic fantasy. I'm almost halfway through it - it's pretty darn good! It reminds me of George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" books.

I am reading "High Noon" by Nora Roberts.  Before that I read "Marley and Me."  I loved that book.  If you are a dog lover this is a "MUST" read!
