LOL! This is too good not to share and I'm still reading through the comments (I can't keep up with them). Credit to Dear Author for posting this and the Amazon link here.

When you click on it, there is an extra "http" up in the address bar.  Delete that and you should be good to go.

WOW!  This author really needs to increase her meds (and I mean that in the nicest way possible) -- because she's aiming for the prime spot in "Authors Behaving Badly."

I think the med suggestion is pretty apt. I do not see how someone can continue like this and not get it.

Wow. She's definitely in the wrong profession.

I once got a personal e-mail from an author that I reviewed on Amazon.  Her book was dreadful, but I was pretty kind in my review.

She e-mailed me and, in effect, called me a dream-squasher since this was her fist book and I had no idea what it was like to work so hard on a book, only to have people not like it.

She SUCCEEDED in getting my review as well as the negative review of another person removed.  The book has been out for several years, yet is has few reviews on Amazon.  I am relatively certain it is because of the author's interference.  I learned to take Amazon reviews with a grain of salt.

Oh, I take those Ammy reviews with a big grain of salt unless it's a reviewer I'm familiar with. And no, I'm not talking about Harriet.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who's had an author not happy with an Amazon review. Lol, mine sent a *pal* in to snark in the comments until a little internet detecting found a clear link between my commenter and the author. She never did come back and play with us.....

Keep checking back on the comments, the woman just will not stop. She needs family intervention and needs it now.

What a wack job. Has she ever been on Amazon before?  She seems to be under the misguded impression that the review page belongs to her, because it's for her book.  As if people were responding to her on her blog, that sort of thing.

This is getting funnier all the time. She just doesn't get it and she's making accusations of trolling, etc.  How come someone not realize how totally out of line they are and what damage they're doing to themselves? Meds, please. Where is her family?

*EDIT* She's contacting the FBI?

Okay guys...I've just downloaded all the comments made on this site as per the FBI's instructions...I don't care if you believe it or not. The complaint wasn't made on this site...please read what I wrote...it was sent elsewhere. And I don't care if you believe that, either.

Well the faffe continues and it's spreading all over the internet from what I hear - and the comments grow. I did come across something rather fun though - see comment #15 on this blog, http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/011997.html.

That name struck me as familiar. Now see comments on this review of Tears of Pearl on Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/review/R35GS67AGRCZ8J/ref=cm_cr_pr_cmt?ie=UTF8&ASIN=0312383703&nodeID=#wasThisHelpful

They are deleted now but old JD also attacked Barb over at Goodreads as well as a person with a sock account (no books, no friends, no groups, never commented anywhere but there and never has again).

Apparently Neil Gaiman caught hold of it and linked to it from his blog.  How I love Gaiman.

Sharz your comment made me LOL before I even realized it was you!

ChibiNeko says:

Which person threatened you?

Sharz96 says:

I'm betting, the voice in her head.

Brilliant.

Oh my gosh, this one is way better than the Amanda Elyot debacle! Pass the popcorn!!

Misfit, there was another author who had an online meltdown before the Elyot one. She is a romance writer, but I can't think of her name. Do you remember? No big deal if you can't. It just bugs me when I can't remember something. ;-)

Oh, I just read the "Tears of Pearl" link Misfit gave us and that reviewer actually has photos to support her! She can PROVE the people who left glowing reviews were friends of the author. There's just no escaping that kind of damning evidence. LOL!

Misfit, you always post the best links!

Did Candace edit her Feacebook? I don't seen anything about this there.

Yes, Candace put her FB page on private. Fortunately I did post about this over at HFO and I did copy one paragraph so we at least have that gem to share,

"Once again, if you can take a moment, just go click on the kinder commenters reviews...saying that those reviews were more helpful. Just click the word "YES" under the nicer reviews that were given. Again, this puts the poorer reviews on another page where they aren't seen right off by any perspective buyers. Readers can still read the bad reviews, it's just that they won't be the first ones under the book's sales buttons. I will do the same thing for any author who is 'hit' by reviewers LB Taylor and someone anonymously calling him/herself BBB. "

It was a long long post that pretty much asked everyone over and over and over again to vote down the critical reviews and vote up the positive reviews. I have never seen Harriet pick up so many negatives ever. Wish it was my review getting all those possies though last time I looked she had over 400. Library has this book in the catalog so I placed a hold. This looks like Shelf of Shame material.

Yes, there's been a couple of choice faffes over the last couple of years. Victoria Laurie http://dearauthor.com/wordpress/2008/08/12/does-psychic-victoria-laurie-forsee-lawsuit-in-her-future/. Of course the biggest of all until this debacle is Deborah MacGillivray. Here's a link that provides other links to read up. I recommend Dear Author as well as the Karen knows best post (there's a potty word in the Karen URL so I won't paste it here). http://www.erecsite.com/labels/Highland%20Press.html

I actually got one of DebMac's books out from the library a few months ago. What absolute complete and total drivel. She's just released a new one in her series and it was so bad I tossed it at page 30 or so. What's interesting is the publisher relationship - Highland Press/Kensington/Zebra. Kensington is seriously trying to get into the HF market and so far of the ones that I've tried are very very purple. The Courtier's Secret. That. Tudor. Vampire. Book. They've also picked up the Brandy Purdy book originally published as Vengeance is Mine (now called The Boleyn Wife I think).  I've taken several Kensington/Zebra romances out of the library and they're all either 1/2 star bad to I can't even make it past the prologue. Of course Harriet loved each and every one of them :D

Someone on the reviews comments had the presense of mind to copy the entire FB post before she altered her profile. It's on page 32 (!!!) and the direct link is here, http://www.amazon.com/review/R1BA0D6J2GS59/ref=cm_cd_pg_pg32?ie=UTF8&cdPage=32.

I'm really going to have to turn off the email alerts on new comments. My inbox is flooded :p

Misfit, this is getting more and more crazy! I like this line:

I wonder if they'd pick up a stick or some weapon and come after someone who challenges their opinion or authority if the challenge ever came in person.

Yeah, because of course someone who wrote a bad review for a book is obviously the sort of person who will grab a stick and beat people with it. Makes perfect sense. LOL!!

MacGillivray is the one I was trying to remember earlier, thanks. It drives me bonkers when I can't think of a name. I don't think I heard about the Victoria Laurie one, but now I just have to go check it out, lol.

This is more fun than fiction. I don't have any kind of crazy drama in my own life, darn it! I'll have to live vicariously through internet drama, lol. I'd never have the nerve to post like you and Sharla did though; too chicken! That woman might get a stick and beat me with it. LOL!

Did she really say she called the Feds? For what?!  Is "hit and run" reviewing a federal crime now? Oh, this is hilarious.

Misfit, you just HAVE to post about this book after you read it! Make sure you give us the link to your blog review!!! I gotta see this review. Just make sure you wear your tinfoil hat while posting the review so the Feds can't come after you. ;-)

This is quite the soap opera and yes I will provide link to my review of Sam's book. Who knows, I may actually like it ;(

I've avoided these faffes so far but I came close once. Why someone would get so ticked off at a freaking three star review they'd get the assinine idea they could expose awful me and get me thrown off of Amazon........

At the same time there was her BFF author who didn't like my two star and lo and behold some *lori* person comes in to the comments on said review and tells me and my friends to take the comments to Facebook. Although a little creative googling when I found her full name as a signature of one of her reviews led me to an interesting connection. *Lori* shut up after that, try as hard as we could to bring her back. It was hilarious watching how quick the negative votes came in on any of our new comments.
