When I first became a member I was so excited that now I could find all of her books. I had read a very early one and liked the detective - Coffin. Like many mystery afficionados, I got all the books before continuing to read. I was so disappointed! The main character changed completely! To me the series became predictable quite fast, and not at all times believable.

My question is, I've had all these books languishing on my shelf for well over a year. They just don't move. Should I offer them 2 for 1, or what other suggestions do you have?  I appreciate your suggestions.     m'ann

Boy, that's a toughie! And that is *exactly* the reason that I never acquire all the books in a series before starting to read them. I generally try to acquire 1 or 2 books ahead and that's it--so as I finish one and post it, I will order one more book ahead. if I series does "go bad" or I lose interest, I don't have a huge stockpile to unload, just one or two books. But I read my series with a fair bit of time between books--a very *favorite* series I might read one or sometimes two a month, others will often go three or four or six months between books in series, so I don't get tired of them. (And THAT explains why I have about a hundred and twenty series going all at once! LOL)

You can certainly try offering some sort of deal on them. Aside from that, you could always donate them to a Friends of the Library sale or trade them in at a UBS if you wanted to just get them off your shelf. Otherwise, just be patient--they'll likely get chosen eventually.

I loved those when I first started to read them.  Like you said, then they changed.  I just couldn't get into them after a certain point.  I donated mine to the library before I joined PBS.  So, if you just want them out of the house - that's the way to go - donate them I mean.

Cheryl, we must share a brain. I do the same thing. I usually WL the first two books and then RL the rest and tag them with their publication order. If the series fades, I can just take them off my RL. If it holds up, I don't have to hunt around to remember the titles.
